Blue Pearl

Did you ever see a blue light in meditation? Or have others commented that they have seen a tiny blue spark of light around you?

According to Muktananda, in Kundalini: The Secret of Life, the Blue Pearl is a sign of awakened kundalini and seeing it in meditation is like seeing the soul.

"The Blue Pearl is the actual form of the Self, our innermost reality, the form of God which lives within us. ... within the Blue Pearl are millions and millions of universes. The Blue Pearl contains the entire cosmos."

Swami Muktananda regarded the stable visualization of the "blue pearl" to be the primary evidence of supreme realization.

"The whole body is like a lotus which has four petals of four kinds, colours, and sizes....The first is the gross body, its colour is red.  The second petal is the subtle body, in which we sleep and experience dreams.  It is the size of a thumb, and its colour is white.  The third petal is the causal body.  It is the size of the tip of third finger, and its colour is black.  The fourth petal is the supracausal body, which is as small as a sesame seed.  Its colour is blue....It is very brilliant; it is the foundation of sadhana; it is the highest inner vision."

In his book, Does Death Really Exist, Swami Muktananda speaks of how the blue pearl dwells in the 7th Chakra, the crown of the head. It is the body of the Self. All consciousness is contained in it and all of the dynamism of the breathing process comes from the blue pearl. When this light of the blue pearl departs from the body, consciousness departs also. Death is simply the name we give to the departure of the blue pearl from the body.
